The price of the average piano ranges from $900 to $1,400. Kunow, who maintains he could teach anyone to play something in one lesson, says that it takes a minimum of a lesson a week for six months, with lots of practice, to learn to play either instrument with facility. To attract new customers, the store is offering piano or organ lessons at $3 for a half‐hour lesson. “We had a lot of friends in Newark and there is a real need for a music store here,” he declared. Kunow, who had held a variety of managerial positions with the Griffith company for 17 years prior to Wurlitzer's opening here last month, said that many of the new store's employes were from the old Griffith staff.
